International skills competition Cologne

The Dutch team, formed by Ewoud Oskam (Van der Linden & Veldhuis Isolatie BV) and Thijs Wolbers (Vinke Isotechniek), did not reach the winner’s rostrum, but put up a phenomenal performance. Numerous visitors to the fair voiced their admiration for the Dutch craftsmanship. Ewoud Oskam and Thijs Wolbers were one of the few candidates that were not fooled by a sneakily hidden run.  The two contestants only got to know each other during the national preliminary rounds, but had formed a great team by the time they had arrived in Cologne: Seamless teamwork.

In all aspects, the Dutch team has never made such a good appearance. Both the OOI team in the stands as well as the fair visitors watched the team with visible pleasure.

As a result, the employers, represented by Aad de Haan (Van der Linden & Veldhuis Isolatie BV) as well as Freico and Corrie Vinke (Vinke Isotechniek) were especially proud of their technical specialists.

For the first time, the FESI trade competitions have been included in the IEX fair programme. It turned out to be a good decision. The spaciously arranged competition island presented the specialist field for two days and in this manner continuously focused the well-deserved attention on both the profession as well as the vocational training.
